With DriveUploader, you get a unique, system-generated email address for each uploader. However, it's often more convenient and professional for your clients to send files directly to your standard Gmail address. This guide shows you how to link Gmail with DriveUploader in a few simple steps.
Part 1: Create your E-mail Uploader
First, you need to create the destination in DriveUploader where your files will be stored.
Step 1: Select uploader type
- Log in to your DriveUploader account and click New uploader.
- Choose the E-mail Uploader option.
Step 2: Set the destination
- Title: Give your uploader a name (e.g. "Invoices from Gmail").
- Destination folder: Click Select to choose the folder in your Google Drive where files should be saved.
- (Optional) In the Settings tab, you can limit uploads to specific file types (such as PDF files only).
- Click Create.
Step 3: Copy your unique address
- Once created, you will see a unique email address such as upload+...@mydriveuploader.com.
- Click Copy e-mail address. You will need this address for the Gmail setup.
Part 2: Connect Gmail (Forwarding)
Now we will configure Gmail to automatically forward incoming emails to DriveUploader.
Step 4: Add the forwarding address
- Open Gmail and click Settings (gear icon) → See all settings.
- Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- Click Add a forwarding address.
- Paste the email address you copied from DriveUploader and click Next → Proceed.
Step 5: Confirm the request
Gmail needs to verify that forwarding is allowed for the destination address.
- Check your Gmail inbox.
- Look for an email from no-reply@driveuploader.com.
- Inside, you will see a message similar to: "your-email@gmail.com has requested to automatically forward mail to your email address..."
- Click the confirmation link in the email.
- A confirmation page will open. Once confirmed, you can close it.
Step 6: Activate the filter
Most users do not want to forward every email, only emails containing attachments.
- Go back to Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP and refresh the page if needed.
- Click Create a filter.
- In the filter options, check Has attachment.
- Click Create filter.
- Select Forward it to: and choose your DriveUploader email address.
- Click Create filter again.
You're all set!
From now on, any email with an attachment sent to your Gmail address will be automatically forwarded to DriveUploader, and the files will appear in your selected Google Drive folder within seconds.
