This tutorial explains how to use a DriveUploader uploader to send files to Google Drive. It covers both the Online file uploader and the Email uploader.
Uploaders allow you to send files directly to a specific Google Drive folder without needing access to the Drive account itself.
Using an Online file uploader
An Online file uploader is accessed through a public link or an embedded webpage.
Step 1: Open the uploader link
Open the link provided to you. The uploader will load in your browser.
No Google account login is required unless the uploader owner has enabled specific restrictions.
Step 2: Select your files
Click the upload area or drag and drop files from your device.
Depending on the uploader settings, there may be:
- File type restrictions
- File size limits
- A maximum number of files per upload
- Required form fields
Make sure your files meet the configured requirements.
Step 3: Upload files
After selecting your files, confirm the upload.
Once the upload is complete, the files are saved directly to the destination folder in Google Drive.
Using an Email uploader
An Email uploader works through a unique email address.
Step 1: Send an email with attachments
Create a new email and attach the files you want to upload.
Send the email to the uploader’s unique email address.
Step 2: Automatic processing
After the email is sent:
- Attachments are processed automatically
- Files are uploaded directly to the selected Google Drive folder
No additional action is required.
File type and size restrictions may apply depending on the uploader configuration.
Where uploaded files are stored
All files are uploaded to the Google Drive folder selected by the uploader owner. This may be:
- A folder in My Drive
- A folder in a Shared Drive (depending on the plan)
Files are stored under the owner’s Google account and remain fully under their control.
What happens after upload
Depending on the uploader settings, additional actions may occur automatically:
- Notifications may be sent
- Files may be organised into folders
- Data may be saved to Google Sheets
- Document AI may process the files
These features are configured by the uploader owner.
